Fr. RICHARD O’CONNOR

A book of photographs and/or personal memories of Fr Richard O’Connor is being compiled to be presented to his family in Ireland as a gift from the parish. If you have any photographs of him which you would like to contribute, eg. from Weddings, Baptisms, Holy Communion and Confirmation or any other occasion, please contact Pauline Healy (07853 274 728) or Ann Kelly-Brown  (01706 213 838). Original photographs can be copied and returned. If you wish you can write down some special memories for inclusion. We would be grateful for the material on or before Friday 3rd February.

It was heartening to see two of our pupils making a stunning impact last weekend pursuing the noble art of boxing. They fight out of Haslingden Gym and had fights over the weekend in Cumbria and Derby.

With their refusal to quit, aggressive self-assertion, courage, strategic use of force and misdirection, and, yes, undisguised ambition, boxing provides them with a moral code that directly relates to how they conduct themselves at school. The central tenant of boxing is discipline and we can only admire how these boys have dedicated themselves in pursuit of their goals.

The school is starting a boxing club soon, for circuit training only, and if you are interested in acquiring some of the luster of this discipline please speak to Mr. O’Sullivan.

Spanish lessons will start again on Tuesday 10th January  - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
