We have two vacancies for committed individuals to join our Education Support Team as Teaching Assistants.

The post is advertised as a Teaching Assistant 2B Grade 6 (SCP 6-11, currently £9.94 – £10.97 per hour), but may be offered as Teaching Assistant 3 on Grade Grade 6 (SCP 11 - 19, currently £10.97 – £12.85 per hour) to an exceptional candidate.

Post 1 is to provide 1:1 support for a student with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, and is temporary due to the EHCP funding. The initial end date is 30/06/2021, though this will be reviewed termly and may cease if the student leaves the school.

Post 2 is to provide 1:1 support for individual students with an EHCPs, and is temporary due to the EHCP funding. The initial end date is 31/08/2021, though this will be reviewed annually.

The posts are part-time at 27.5 hours per week, worked 8.30am – 2.40pm (less 40 minute unpaid break), Monday to Friday, term-time only (38 weeks per year). Requirements

It is essential that candidates have experience working with young people with SEN, and can evidence strong behaviour management skills.

It is desirable that applicants will have experience working in a school setting; providing 1:1 support, and can provide evidence of working successfully with parents or other agencies in order to support a child.

It is highly desirable that applicants are ELSA trained or have experience in trauma informed practice.

It is essential that applicants are ICT literate and they should be educated to NVQ Level 2 or above and have Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.


Under the supervision and direction of the teacher/SENDCO, you will be required to plan and implement learning activities for the individual student or group of students including those with Special Educational Needs.

Applicants will have involvement in preparation of resources, basic record keeping and supporting the class teachers with classroom organisation.
