Year 9 Students Attend Future Leaders Summit at Accrington College
14 of our Year 9 students recently had the exciting opportunity to attend the Leaders of Industry – Future Leaders Summit 2026 at Accrington and Rossendale College.
The event was designed to develop key employability skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership. Throughout the day, students took part in a carousel of engaging, hands-on activities.
These included The Silent Maze and Blind Shape Builder, which challenged them to work collaboratively and communicate effectively under pressure. In Leadership Crest, students explored what makes a successful leader, before finishing with a Gallery Walk to reflect on their work and share ideas.
Students were placed into teams and given specific roles, encouraging them to take responsibility, demonstrate initiative and build confidence in a professional environment.
We are especially proud to share that one of our Year 9 teams won a prize for their Leadership Crest, a fantastic achievement that highlights the creativity and teamwork demonstrated on the day.
The experience provided a valuable insight into a college setting, while helping students to develop important skills that will support them in their future education and careers. They represented the school brilliantly and should be very proud of their efforts.
A special thank you to Accrington and Rossendale College for hosting such a well-organised and inspiring event.
We look forward to offering more opportunities like this to help raise aspirations and prepare our students for the world of work.
